Shaped by landscape, livelihood and lineage, Claire Gaudion’s Guernsey willow baskets tell
the story of a people whose ingenuity was woven into everyday life. Today, they are being
rediscovered as timeless expressions of craftsmanship, where heritage, beauty and
contemporary design come together.
Crafted for centuries by local fishermen to endure harsh seas and carry heavy catches,
these baskets are now recognised as timeless objects of design, equally at home in
contemporary interiors, galleries and collections as they once were aboard Guernsey’s
fishing boats.
