Graham Plevin

Having obtained a ceramics degree from Harrow College, Graham’s work is grounded in the
traditions of wheel-throwing, while embracing the alchemy of experimental firing.
Each hand-thrown piece undergoes a saggar firing in his custom-built kiln, where natural
materials such as seaweed, horse hair and coconut husks become active participants in the
making process. As these elements combust and fume, they leave behind unpredictable
markings, subtle colour shifts, and richly textured surfaces, ensuring every vessel is entirely
unique. Graham sees this dialogue between clay, fire, and nature as a celebration of
process, chance, and organic imperfection.

Lately, the timeless, rhythmic patterns of William Morris are subtly weaving their way into his
works.
