Joanne Furniss

Joanne Furniss is a Guernsey-based artist and primary educator with over two
decades of experience fostering creativity. For the past nine years, the island’s
diverse landscapes have inspired her work, which deeply reflects a lifelong influence
by William Morris and the intricate beauty of natural objects.

Preferring tactile traditional textures such as pencils and charcoal, Joanne recently
expanded her practice into the digital realm of the ipad. Through the digital art
software, Procreate, she discovered a liberating flexibility and an endless palette of
media. Her current work beautifully bridges the gap between classic, organic design
traditions and contemporary digital expression.
